Arden Davis

Mr. Arden Davis, age 78, of Newborn passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2020.  He was born in Porterdale on September 7, 1941 to Harvey and Thelma Dodd Davis who have preceded him in death.  Mr. Davis was a member of Newborn United Methodist Church.  He was a Mason and a member of Mansfield Masonic Lodge #489.  Mr. Davis proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corp for 4 years. He worked for and retired from the State of Georgia.  Mr. Davis loved the coast of Georgia; while working for the State he lived on Sapelo Island and following his retirement he had a home in Darien, Georgia.  He enjoyed fishing, and cooking, he played golf, and he had a shrimp boat for a while and enjoyed shrimping.  Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his wife Jean Hammond Davis, and his brother Sheridan Davis.  He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Dale and Gail Davis of Newborn, his grandchildren Dillan Davis, Tiffanie Davis, Celina Stowe, T.J. Stowe, and Cristie Stowe, his great grandchildren Jean, Owen, Cerenity, Kayden, and Hunter along with several nieces, nephews, other family and a host of friends.

Memorial services for Mr. Davis will be held at 11 o’clock Saturday, January 18, 2020 at Newborn United Methodist Church with Reverend Ricky Bruce officiating.  The family will receive friends at the fellowship of the church prior to the service of Saturday.  The family has selected J.C.
