Until mother (Frances Cowan) died in 1997, there were regular family gatherings that Buddy and Bettie attended. After Buddy died, we lost touch with Bettie except for our annual Christmas card exchange. We extend our deepest sympathy to Bettie's family in the loss of this kind and gentle member of the Shepherd family.
