Mrs. Doris Shubert, age 82, a lifelong resident of Stone Mountain passed away Wednesday, February 21, 2018. She was born in Stone Mountain on December 8, 1935 to Paul and Georgia Bartlett Reeves who have preceded her in death. Mrs. Shubert enjoyed watching TV especially game shows and loved to go on vacation to the Smokey Mountains. She was member of Alcove Missionary Baptist Church in Monroe. Mrs. Shubert worked as a waitress for many years at both the Square Table Restaurant in Decatur and JJ’s Bar-B-Que in Stone Mountain. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years Mr. Fred Shubert.
Mrs. Shubert is survived by her children John Shubert of Stone Mountain, Bonnie Sweat of Stone Mountain, Linda Mikul and her husband Steve of Oxford and Sherry Flickner and her husband Bennie of Oxford her brothers Roy Reeves of Douglasville, Winston Reeves of Conyers, Lamar Reeves and his wife Mary Ann of Hamilton and Perry Reeves of Douglasville along with 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren and a host of other family and close friends.
Funeral services for Mrs. Shubert will be held at 2 o’clock Monday, February 26, 2018 at the Chapel of J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home with Reverend Ken Sweat and Reverend David Inscore officiating. Interment will follow at Melwood Cemetery in Stone Mountain. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, February 26, 2018 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM. J.C.
