Earl Wood

Mr. Earl Wood, age 78, of Conyers passed away Saturday, September 14, 2019.  He was born July 15, 1941 in Porterdale to William Alfred and Clarabelle Bailey Wood who have preceded him in death.  Mr. Wood worked for and retired from General Motors.  He enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandchildren.  Mr. Wood exceled at woodworking, he enjoyed running rabbit dogs, above all else he took great pride in his game fowl, and his favorite past-time was “watching the grass grow”.  Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Mrs. Kay Wood, his sister Patricia Farrow, his brother Fletcher Wood, and his grandson William. 

Mr. Wood is survived by his daughters Rhonda Avery (Barry) of Covington, Monica Wood Baker of Conyers, and Lisa Hill (Mark) of Salem, Virginia his grandchildren Travis, Hannah, Trey, Clara, Michayle, Corey, and Gracie his great grandchildren Cainan, Hunter, and Kayson his brother Gene Wood (Renee) of Covington along with a host of other family and close friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Wood will be held at 2 o’clock Thursday, September 19, 2019 at the Chapel of J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home with Bishop Jerry Patterson officiating.  Interment will follow at Covington City Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home.  J.C.
