Eddie "Terry" T. Brooks

Mr. Eddie T. “Terry” Brooks, age 74, of Mansfield passed away Thursday, June 6, 2019.  He was born on December 28, 1944 in Griffin, Georgia to Waymond Edward and Emmie Folds Brooks who have preceded him in death.  Mr. Brooks graduated from Griffin High School in 1963 where he was voted “Wittiest” by his classmates; a trait that he carried through out his life.  A great conversationalist, humorist, and practical joker; he loved nothing more than entertaining family and friends. Mr. Brooks enjoyed watersports, boating, being with his family, especially his grandchildren, and he loved people.  He obtained the faith of Christ and was a huge supporter of Red Oak United Methodist Church.  Mr. Brooks was a member of Teamsters Local 728; a professional truck driver and surpassed the million-mile safety mark while working for ABF.  The family would like to express their gratitude to Homestead Hospice and his caregivers Emanda (Sunshine), Samantha, and Dee. 

Mr. Brooks is survived by his wife of 30 years Sharon Barker Brooks, his sons Christopher S. Brooks of Stockbridge and Bobby Shane Brooks (Jill) of Jackson, his grandchildren Blake, Nick, Levi, and Sarah his sister Linda Dale Greer of Port Richey, Florida his niece Rhonda Baughcum (Randy) of Land O Lakes, Florida along with numerous other family and close friends.   

A celebration of life will be held at 11 o’clock Saturday June 22, 2019 at Red Oak United Methodist Church with Reverend Royeese Stowe and Reverend Jimmy Pitts officiating.  Interment will follow at the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM prior to the service.  In lieu of flowers the family ask that donation be made to Red Oak United Methodist Church/Designated Account, 15105 GA Hwy 36, Covington, GA 30014.  J.C.
