John D Coltharp, Sr

Mr. John D. Coltharp, Sr. age 76 of Oxford passed away Wednesday, October 03, 2018.  He was born September 6, 1942 in Madisonville, TN to Amanda Beatrice and Horace Coltharp who have preceded him in death.  Mr. Coltharp grew up in Tennessee and graduated from the Madisonville High School.  He was a general manager for Madison Industries working there for 25 years before becoming an inspector for Newton County.  Mr. Coltharp was a Tennessee football fan and a Dale Jarrett fan.  He loved being on his farm, raising cows, restoring tractors and being with his family.  Mr. Coltharp is survived by his wife of 54 years Brenda Cowan Coltharp,  his daughter and son-in-law Tammy and Will McMullen, his son and daughter-in-law Doug and Tina Coltharp, his grandchildren Chase, Taylor, J.D., and Aubrey his great grandchildren Karson and Westin all of Oxford along with a host of other family and close friends.

Memorial services for Mr. Coltharp will be held at 2 o’clock Saturday, October 6, 2018 at the Chapel of J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until 2:00 PM on Saturday prior to the service.  J.C.
