Mrs. Kay Weideman Goddard, age 74, of Covington formerly of Lithonia passed away Thursday, May 24, 2018. She was born in South Bend, Indiana on August 11, 1943 to James Frances “Jim” and Ruby Agnes Harvey Weideman who have preceded her in death. Kay was a 1960 graduate of Lithonia High School. She worked as a legal secretary for many years in Conyers. Kay loved playing cards especially Spades, drinking coffee, sitting by the pool, going to the theater and plays and simply being with her family. She was affectionately known as “Kay Baby” by her brother and nephews. Mrs. Goddard was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend; she loved unconditional. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her brother Mike Harvey and her son-in-law Nikki Wade.
Mrs. Goddard is survived by her children Nora Ann Wade of Covington, Lisa Ann Carroll (Bobby), Tammy Jo Goddard (Jeff) all of Emporia, Virginia, Scott McCrea Goddard (Cindy) of Manchester, Tennessee, and Sean Nelson Goddard (Stephanie) of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee her granddaughter Samantha Kay Wade of Alpharetta, her honorary child Zack Shannon, her sisters Billie Ann Sullivan of Thunderbolt, Georgia and Nancy Weideman Stephenson of Kerman, California her sister-in-law Emily Harvey of Coral Springs, Florida along with her nieces and nephews David, Jimmy, Sandi, Susan, Pam, Wayne, Megan, Cindy, Nora Kay, Michael, Michelle, and Mitchell her great nieces and great nephews whom she loved very much and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services for Mrs. Goddard will be held at 11 o’clock Thursday, May 31, 2018 at the Chapel of J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home with Dr. Jim Martin officiating. Interment will follow at Hillandale Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at the funeral home. J.C.
