Mabel Gomes

Mrs. Mabel Gomes, age 78, of Covington passed away January 25, 2018.  She was born in Calcutta, India to Michael and Agnes Gomes who have preceded her in death.  Mrs. Gomes obtained a Master’s Degree in English from the University of Calcutta.  She was a loving wife and mother who was a devoted catholic and member of St. Pius X Catholic Church, where she loved to attend and was always in prayer for her family and those in need.  Mrs. Gomes loved nature, children and being with her relatives.  She is survived by her husband Edward Gomes of Covington, her children Joseph Gomes of Troy, Michigan, Heidi Gomes of Providence, Rhode Island and Patrick Gomes of Covington along with many other family members and close friends.  A funeral mass will be held at 11 o’clock Thursday, February 1, 2018 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 2621 Georgia Highway 20 SE, Conyers, GA 30013 with Father Salomon Garcia officiating.  Interment will follow at New Covington Cemetery.  J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home, 2157 East Street, SE, Covington, GA 30014 is in charge of the arrangements.
