Mrs. Maxine Parker, age 80, of Covington passed away peacefully Friday, August 10, 2018 at Abbey Hospice in Social Circle with her two sons by her side. She was born July 11, 1938 in Pensacola, Florida to Guy and Frances Sears Wilson who have preceded her in death. A woman of strong faith, Maxine was a member of Stewart Baptist Church and in recent years attended Gaither’s United Methodist Church. She was a city girl turned country. Maxine met and married the love of her life, Boyce Parker and the two were happily married for 57 years. She enjoyed life as a homemaker; after her children were grown she started driving a school bus for Newton County and “Loved It”. Maxine loved music, church, family, and dancing “She had the music in her” and she shined as a caregiver. Young people were drawn to her and her to them; Maxine Parker had an awesome sense of humor. She was preceded in death by her parents, Guy and Frances Wilson, her husband Boyce Parker, her grandbaby Lacy Parker, and her sister Gloria Conkle. Mrs. Parker is survived by her sons Greg Parker (Terri) of Covington and Andy Parker (Sherrie) of Covington, along with her grandchildren; Mickey Parker, Mandy Moon, Brittany Everett and Brooke Parker and her 8 great grandchildren her sisters-in-law Trellis Gunnells of Covington, and Elizabeth Parker of Covington along with a host of nieces, nephews, other family, and close friends.
