Mr. Michael Wagner, age 58, of Covington passed away Monday, April 23, 2018. He was born October 20, 1959 in Richmond, Virginia and grew up in Fredericksburg. Mr. Wagner received his Eagle Scout at age 17 and went on to Georgia Tech where he graduated with a degree as a civil engineer. Mr. Wagner was a Senior Project Manager for Nova Consulting. He loved working with his hands and enjoyed working on cars, restoring antiques, and cooking. Mr. Wagner was a friend to all animals especially his adored cats that he shared with his wife Candace. He was known far and wide for his intelligence, love of reading, and passion for learning. Mr. Wagner was preceded in death by his brother Steven Ray Wagner and his sister Linda Wagner McAfee. He was a devoted husband and is survived by his wife of 24 years Candace Wagner, and his parents Glenn and Margurite Wagner. Mr. Wagner was the oldest of 11 children and is survived by his siblings Lori Wagner, Stephen Wagner, Greg Wagner, Lisa Foster, Kevin Wagner, Keith Wagner, Lynn Wagner-Smith, and Linette Kasper along with a host of other family and close friends. A gathering of friends and family will be held Saturday, June 23, 2018 at 12 p.m. in the chapel with the memorial service following.
