Monty Stephens of Shady Dale, age 71, passed away on May 31, 2018. Mr. Stephens worked for White Trucks, Hertz, and Dekalb County Fleet Maintenance. He retired from Dekalb County in 2003 where he served as the Assistant Director of Fleet Maintenance. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He found joy working in his garden and building birdhouses. Gardening and spending time tending to his yard brought him so much joy. He adored his grandchildren and never missed an opportunity to share with others how very proud he was of them. The absolute love of his life was his wife of 52 years. High school sweethearts and best friends, they were inseparable. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Ernestine Stephens, brothers Jerry Stephens and Danny Stephens.
