Mr. Paul Wilson, age 89, of Alpharetta formerly of East Point passed away Saturday, April 28th, 2018. He was born August 31, 1928 in Hapeville and grew up in East Point. Mr. Wilson graduated Russell High School in 1945 and served in the United States Navy and the Navy Reserves. He retired from the City of East Point in 1978 following a long career. During his years in East Point Mr. Wilson served on the City Council in the 1960’s and 1970’s and was the Chairman of the Fulton County Development Authority. He was a man of God, Family and Country; a faithful Christian, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather and a patriot serving in the United States Navy entering when he was just 17 years old. Mr. Wilson enjoyed traveling, fishing, being outdoors and was a conversationalist extraordinaire. He was preceded in death by his parents Marvin and Maurine Wilson.
Mr. Wilson is survived by his wife of 65 years, Louise Burnham Wilson. He was blessed with 3 children: Paula Harvey (James), Mark Wilson (Cathy S.), and Charles Wilson (Cathy H.) along with 10 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren and his sister Martha Williams.
Funeral services for Mr. Wilson will be held at 1 o’clock Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at the Chapel of J. C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Covington City Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday, April 30, 2018 at the First Baptist Church of Alpharetta, 44 Academy St. Alpharetta, Ga 30009 from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM and again on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM prior to the funeral service at J.C.
