Mrs. Penny Apostolo, age 79, of Covington formerly of Newnan, passed away Sunday, December 30, 2018. She was born October 17, 1939 in Florence, South Carolina and was raised in Charleston by her parents Robert and Frances Nathans. Mrs. Apostolo moved at a young age with her family to Sacramento and then to San Diego where she completed school and met her husband. She loved being a mother and was an extraordinary homemaker; simple do it yourself project were handled with ease and carried onto her skills as a seamstress even sewing one of her daughter’s wedding dresses. Mrs. Apostolo is survived by her husband of 59 years Mr. Leonard Apostolo her children Shannon Davis (Jace) of Ammon, Idaho, Brian Apostolo of Kernersville, North Carolina, Sharron Wyman of Covington, Suzanna Carillo (Fred) of Eagle, Idaho, Brennan Apostolo (Joni) of Newnan, Georgia, Brady Apostolo of Phoenix, Arizona, and Benjamin Apostolo (Amber) of Denver, Colorado. Her 20 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, her sisters Barbara Farris of Sedalia, Missouri and Cythia Harrison of California, and her brother Mac Nathans of California also survive her along with a host of other family and close friends.
Funeral services for Mrs. Apostolo will be held at 11 o’clock Saturday, January 5, 2019 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 10235 Eagle Drive, Covington, GA 30014 with Bishop Joshua Kirkham officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 656 Roscoe Road, Newnan, GA 30263 at 2:30 PM. J.C.
