Richard "Dick" Arnold Leder

Mr. Richard Arnold “Dick” Leder, age 74, a longtime resident of Monroe passed away Sunday, March 4, 2018.  He was born in Miami, Florida on February 4, 1944 to Ernest Fredrick and Arvella Mae Reaume Leder who have preceded him in death.  Mr. Leder grew up in Marathon, Florida and graduated from Marathon High School.  He served in the United States Air Force and graduated from Georgia State University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology.  Dick was a man of many talents, always working hard from owning a body shop in his younger years to owning and operating Leder and Associates Insurance.  He loved spending time with his family and friends.  Mr. Leder enjoyed photography, boating, scuba diving and being on the water. 

Mr. Leder is survived by his wife Pam Hodges Leder, of Monroe; his children, Richard Alexander Leder and Samantha, of Athens; Wesley Leder and his wife Katie of Monroe; Kimberly Leder Calhoun of Loganville; his grandson Shannon Michael Calhoun of Loganville; his sister Sandy Syphurs of Boynton Beach, Florida; his niece Wendy Syphurs of California; his step-sons Craig and Justin Moss; the mother of his children, Barbara Leder of Loganville along with a host of other family and close friends.

Memorial services will be held at 12 o’clock Saturday, March 10, 2018 at the Chapel of J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until service time on Saturday.  Mr. Leder will be cremated and his ashes scattered in the Keys.  Those desiring may make donations to the American Cancer Society in Memory of Richard Leder for the Newton County Relay for Life at 105 Westpark Drive C, Athens, GA 30606.  J.C.
