Samuel Liston Spearman

Mr. Samuel Liston Spearman, age 75, a lifelong resident of Covington passed away Wednesday, September 11, 2019.  He was born in Covington to Liston and Irene Barker Spearman who have preceded him in death.  Mr. Spearman enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing the guitar, singing, and spending time with his family.  He retired from Newton County Public Works in 2010 as a supervisor.  Mr. Spearman is survived by his daughter Sherry Cope and her husband Gregory of Hessmer, LA, his brother James Spearman of Covington, his sisters Mary Burroughs and her husband James of Conyers, and Dorothy Holcombe and her husband Sonny of Conyers, his grandchildren Leslie, Michael, Scotty, Lisa, and Dustin, his 10 great grandchildren along with a host of other family and close friends. 

Graveside services for Mr. Spearman will be held at 12 o’clock Friday, September 13, 2019 at Corinth Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends at J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM prior to the service on Friday with a procession from the funeral home at 11:30 AM.  J.C.
