Shawn South

Mr. Shawn South, age 54, of Covington passed away Friday, December 13, 2019.  He was born March 21, 1965 in Marietta.  Shawn grew up in Oxford and attended Palmer Stone Elementary School, Cousins Middle School, and was a 1983 graduate of Newton County Comprehensive High School.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, being with his children and grandchildren, and was a loving, caring, giving person.  Mr. South was preceded in death by his first wife Tina Lovell, and his second wife Marion South.  He is survived by his daughters Heather South of Baxley, Amber South of Hoover, Alabama, and Miranda South of Lynchburg, Virginia his grandchildren Blake, Jayden, Jacaleigh, Braylen, and Aaliyah his mother Jo Womack (Bill) of Oxford, his father John South (Anne) of Lavonia, his brothers Shayne South (Cecilia) of Lynchburg, Virginia, Jess South (Lynnette) of Marietta, and Pat Womack (Mandy) of Oxford his sister Fonda Tott of Oxford along with several nieces, nephews, a host of other family and close friends.

Funeral services for Mr. South will be held at 2 o’clock Friday, December 20, 2019 at the Chapel of J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home with Mr. Sam Azzarelli officiating.  The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Friday prior to the service.  The family has selected J.C.
