Walter "Buck" L. Kent

Mr. Walter L. “Buck” Kent, age 71, of Covington passed away Saturday, April 21, 2018.  He was born October 21, 1946 in Hogansville, Georgia to Robert Louie Kent Sr and Odessa who have preceded him in death.  Mr. Kent grew up in Hogansville and graduated from Hogansville High School.  He served his country in the United States Army.  Mr. Kent worked as a Supervisor in the food industry and was employed at both Kraft Foods and Golden State Foods.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend.  Mr. Kent enjoyed shopping, fishing, and sports and was an avid Georgia Tech Football fan.  He was Christian by faith and attended Harvest Baptist Church.  Mr. Kent was preceded in death by his first wife Carol Faye Kent and his son Thomas Randall Kent.  He is survived by his wife of 30 years Barbara Kent, his children Kenneth “Danny” Kent and Kimberly of Covington, and Melissa Urla and Julio also of Covington, his grandchildren Justin, Joshua, Aiden and Addison and his great granddaughter Evelyn his siblings Kathryn Christian of Huntsville, Alabama, Robert L. “Skeet” Kent, Jr and Virginia of Hogansville and Bonnie Morgan and Jim of Sierra Vista, Arizona along with a host of other family and close friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Kent will be held at 11 o’clock Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at Harvest Baptist Church, 2075 GA Hwy 212, Covington, GA 30016 with Reverend Richard Culpepper officiating.  Interment will follow at Floral Hills Memory Gardens, 3000 Lawrenceville Hwy, Tucker, GA 30084.  The family will receive friends at J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM on Monday, April 23, 2018.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.  J.C.
