Wanda (Aldridge) McMullen

Mrs. Wanda McMullen, age 68, of Covington passed away Friday, February 1, 2019. She was born August 12, 1950 in Waynesville, North Carolina to Glen and Claudia Johnson Aldridge who have preceded her in death.  Mrs. McMullen was a graduate of Tuscola High School in Waynesville.  She was the secretary at Heard-Mixon Elementary School for many years.  Mrs. McMullen loved following her husband and son to fishing tournaments, she enjoyed gardening and working in her yard.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.  Mrs. McMullen was preceded in death by her husband Wayne McMullen.  She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Willie and Tammy McMcullen of Oxford, her grandchildren Taylor and Aubrey, her brothers and sisters-in-law Ray and Karen Aldridge of Illinois and Ben Lee and Barbara Aldridge of Tennessee, her sisters and brothers-in-law Sherrill and Buddy Slade of Florida, and Linda and Paul Castleberry of Georgia along with a host of other family and close friends. 

Funeral services for Mrs. McMullen will be held at 11 o’clock Monday, February 4, 2019 at the Chapel of J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home with Pastor Alan Posey officiating.  Interment will follow at Red Oak United Methodist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM prior to the service.  J.C.
