Albert Harold Kennemore, Jr.

Mr. Albert Harold Kennemore, Jr., age 86, of Covington passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2022.  He was born in Atlanta on May 18, 1935 to Albert Sr. and Margaret Kennemore who have preceded him in death.  Mr. Kennemore grew up in Decatur and attended Decatur High School before joining the Navy.  He served during the Korean War era and served in the United States Navy for 2 years and the United States Marine Corp for 2 years with the 1st Marine Division.  Following his service to his country he returned home and joined the Atlanta Police Department and attended Georgia State University.  Mr. Kennemore started his career as a police officer in 1960 and retired in 1986.  During that time he served in various positions including 9 years of general service, 1 year assigned to the Captains office, 2 years Stake Out and Decoy, 1 year in Homicide, and 9 years with Night Watch K-9 Patrol all of which he was very proud.  

Mr. Kennemore was preceded in death by his daughter Brenda Ann Kennemore and his sister Carolyn Ann Bush.  He is survived by his wife Alice M. Kennemore; his sons John Kennemore and Wes Kennemore all of Covington.  Services for Mr. Kennemore will be held at a later date.
