Andy Griffeth

Mr. Andy Griffeth, age 76, of Covington passed away Tuesday, July 30, 2024.  He was born January 27, 1948 in Oconee County to Hoyt and Frances Griffeth who have preceded him in death.  Mr. Griffeth grew up in High Shoals and was a 1965 graduate of Oconee County High School.  He owned and operated Griffeth Mechanical with his brother Mark until his retirement. Mr. Griffeth was a Christian and attended Stewart Community Church.  He enjoyed going to flea markets and often bought more than he sold, he was a University of Georgia football fan and loved his grandchildren going to all their practices and games.  Along with his parents Mr. Griffeth was preceded in death by his brother Mark Griffeth; and his sisters Shelby Sims, Hilda Brewer, Kathy Hakes, and Nell Harvey.

He is survived by wife Harriet Griffeth; his daughters Lori Seabolt (Michael Johnson) of Covington, and Leigh Davis (Bart) of Monticello; his grandchildren Dylan Davis (Dara), and Dale Davis (Kennedi Blackmon); his sisters Pam Bradshaw (David), and Sue Chancey (Walter); along with several nieces, nephews, other family members, and close friends.

Memorial services will be held at 2 o’clock Sunday, August 4, 2024 at the Chapel of J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home with Pastor Will Griffeth officiating.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Sunday prior to the service.
