Andy Johnson

Mr. Andy Johnson, age 53, passed away March 7, 2020. He was born September 5, 1966 in Covington, Georgia to Luther and Johnnie Ruth Johnson. Andy grew up in Covington and graduated from the Newton County Comprehensive High School. He enjoyed fishing, going to church and was a talented baseball player when he was younger. Andy was a member of Gaither’s United Methodist Church and attended many other churches in and around Covington. He is preceded in death by his sister Joanie Vaughn and his brother Terry Johnson.

Andy is survived by his parents Mr. and Mrs. Luther and Johnnie Ruth Johnson of Covington, his siblings Lanier Johnson, Donna Bray, Brenda Scarbrough (Don), Tony Johnson, Wade Johnson, Julie Thomason and his brother in law Charles Vaughn all of whom reside in Covington. As well as a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mr. Johnson will be held at 1 o’clock Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at the Chapel of J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home with Dr. David Moody officiating.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, March 10, 2020.  The family has selected J.C.
