Arthur Leon Adkins

Mr. Arthur Leon Adkins, age 82, of Covington passed away Wednesday, March 17, 2021.  He was born March 26, 1938 in Warrenton, Georgia to Sherron Lee and Elizabeth Cato Adkins who have preceded him in death.  Mr. Adkins retired from Hoover Universal Inc. where he worked as a wood treater.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, cross stitching, puzzle books, and word search.  Mr. Adkins was a longtime member of The Old Frontier in Thomson, Georgia.  He was preceded in death by his wife Ruth Adkins, his brother Billy Adkins, and his sister Alice Story. 

Mr. Adkins is survived by his daughter Cheryl Adkins and her fiancé Kenneth Smith of Covington, his son William Murphy of Covington, his granddaughter Renee Smith of Tifton, his brothers Gene Adkins and Mike Adkins, his sister Lib Beasley, his dogs Abbey, Spunky, and Buddy, along with a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.

Memorial graveside services will be held at Savannah Memorial Gardens on Sunday, March 21, 2021, the time has yet to be determined soon.  The family has asked that donations be made to The Old Frontier, PO Box 1714 Thomson, GA 30824 in memory of Mr. Leon Adkins.  J.C.
