Obituary was lovingly prepared by the family.
Mr. Barry C. Cason, age 62, of Covington passed away Tuesday, December 17, 2024. He was born May 29, 1962, in Covington to Jack and Helen Cason who have preceded him in death. He and his wife attended Shiloh Baptist Church in Newborn.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers Wayne Cason, James Cason, Ricky Cason, and Steve Cason.
Mr. Cason worked as a Quality Control Clerk for International Paper, where he made lifelong friends and created some wonderful memories for over 40 years. He loved watching the Dawgs on Saturday and waking up to catch a bass Sunday morning. He lived a life dedicated to his beautiful wife of 40 years. He was always quick with a joke and would do anything he could to get a laugh out of someone or put a smile on their face. While at times he spoke his stubborn mind a little too loudly (just like his Mama), he had a big heart and would help anyone at the drop of a camouflage hat. He was a simple man who loved his family, friends, and life itself. Put him outside with some music playing, the grill smoking, his kids and grandkids laughing, his arm around his wife… and he was right where he wanted to be.
Mr. Cason is survived by his wife Annette Cason; his children Brandee Hancock of South Boston, Virginia, Chuck Taylor (Brandy) of Garner, NC, Clay Cason (Jessica) of Newborn, and Brett Cason of Covington; his grandchildren Cory, Cara, Colby, Ella, Lucas, Dax, and Davis; his great grandchildren Willa and Ridge; his siblings Mary Thornburgh (Don) of Social Circle, Sherry Whitehead (Gary), Nicky Cason, Kenneth Cason, and Scott Cason (Laura) all of Covington; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, and many close friends.
Funeral service for Mr. Cason will be held at 2 o’clock Friday, December 20, 2024 at the Chapel of J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home with Pastor Carl Reimold officiating. Interment will follow at New Covington Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Friday, prior to the service.
