Benny L. Tomlin

Mr. Benny L. Tomlin, age 87 of Mansfield passed away Wednesday, August 7, 2025.  He was born December 21, 1937 in Jasper County to his parents Ray and Allie Tomlin who have preceded him in death.

Mr. Tomlin grew up in the Stewart Community of Newton County and served for 6 years in the United States Army Reserves.  He was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Covington.  Mr. Tomlin enjoyed traveling and going on cruises.  He also enjoyed watching news channels, television preachers, UGA and Atlanta Falcons football. 

Mr. Tomlin is survived by his devoted wife of 50 years, Donna Dooley Tomlin; his loving daughters and sons-in-law, Kristi and Ray Greco, and Kim and Sam Harrison; his adored grandchildren, Tucker Greco, Sadie Harrison (Andrew), and Savannah Harrison; and his treasured great-grandchild, Dallas.

A memorial service will be held at 2 o’clock Sunday, August 10, 2025 at the Chapel of J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home with Pastor Rachel Ellis officiating.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM prior to the service on Sunday.
