Berta W Jordan

Mrs. Berta W. Jordan, age 95, of Oxford passed away Monday, May 23, 2022.  She was born August 12, 1926 in the Bay Creek Community of Walton County to Richard and Ela Mae Wade who have preceded her in death.  Mrs. Jordan graduated from Centerville High School and worked as a bus driver for 17 years in Fulton County.  She was very involved in the Order of the Eastern Star for 50 years and served twice as the Worthy Matron and once as the District Grand Deputy.  A Baptist by faith Mrs. Jordan was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church.  She was generous to a fault and lived her life on her own terms. Mrs. Jordan was preceded in death by her husband Sterling G. Jordan and her son Joseph Sterling Jordan.  Mrs. Jordan is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Shirley and Porter Stallings of Macon and her son Thomas Jordan.  She also has four grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, other family and many close friends surviving her.  Graveside services for Mrs. Jordan will be held at 11 o’clock Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at Bay Creek Church Cemetery with Reverend David Shelton officiating. Graveside ceremony given by the Madison Chapter of the O.E.S.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Heart Association, PO Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284
