Mrs. Betty Robinson, age 100, of Covington, Georgia passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2022. She was born on January 10, 1922 to Cooper and Elizabeth Jones who have preceded her in death. Mrs. Robinson taught for many years at Newton County High School before she went on to retire as a book keeper for the Newton County Board of Education. She was a very active member of First Presbyterian Church of Covington, Elizabeth Circle, and the DAR. She enjoyed playing Bridge, reading, and traveling. Mrs. Robinson was loved by many and had a lot of friends who adored her. Along with some of those same friends, she spent an enjoyable seven years at Merryvale with them learning to play Bingo. She preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, James Edward Robinson; her siblings, William Cooper, Walter Burie, Frederick Riley, and Dorothy Jones Ayers.
Mrs. Robinson is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Gail and John Dearing of Atlanta, Betsy and Bill Hodgins of Macon, Sally Pat Williams and Blair Weaver of Athens; grandchildren, John and Alice Dearing of Hunt Valley, MD, Todd and Natalie Hunt of Macon, Rob and Molly Dearing of Jackson, WY, Katie and Boyd Newton of Atlanta, Betsy and John Berry of Atlanta, Amy and Matt Sery of Atlanta, Beth and Ash Prabhakar of Denver, CO, Winn Williams of Denver, CO; great-grandchildren, Jack and Elizabeth Dearing, Abby and Riley Newton, Cate and Sally Berry, Sam and Susie Dearing, Laine, Nathan, Holly, and Emily Hunt, James, Anna Beth and Jack Sery, Priya and Saaya Prabhakar, other family members, and close friends.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Robinson with be held at First Presbyterian Church of Covington on Saturday, May 28, 2022 at 10 o’clock a.m. with Reverend Neeley Rentz Lane officiating. Interment with be a Covington City Cemetery following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family ask that you make donations to the endowment fund at the First Presbyterian Church of Covington in Mrs. Betty Robinson's name.
