Billie Ann Sullivan Obituary

Mrs. Billie Ann Sullivan, age 79, of Thunderbolt, Georgia formerly of Lithonia passed away Friday, July 12, 2019.  She was born in South Bend, Indiana on November 12, 1939; she grew up in Lithonia and was raised by her parents James Frances “Jim” and Ruby Harvey Weideman who have preceded her in death.  Mrs. Billie Ann was a true example of a Christian woman; loving, kind, and gracious.  She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.  Mrs. Billie Ann worked for many years with Dr. Hunt, Dr. Foster, and Doctor’s David and Janet Huber all in Lithonia.  She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Lithonia where she very active, she was the WMU director for a period of time and taught Sunday School for many years.  When she moved to Thunderbolt, she became a member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church on Willington Island and also became an Associate Sister of Mercy at St. Joseph Candler Hospital in Savannah.  She was preceded in death by her husband Leonard Sullivan, her brother Michael Harvey, her sister Kay Goddard, and her grandson Joseph “JoJo” Sullivan.

Mrs. Sullivan is survived by her children David Sullivan and his wife Lore of Grayson, Jimmy Sullivan, Sandy Sullivan, and Susan Lowe all of Thunderbolt her sister Nancy Stephenson of Kerman, California. Her grandchildren Katie, Jimbo, Amanda, Jonathan, Leslie, Anna, Lucas, Trevor, Travis, Will, and Tyler along with 15 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and close friends also survive her.

Graveside services for Mrs. Sullivan will be held at 2 o’clock Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at Swords Community Cemetery, Buckhead, Georgia with Dr. Jim Martin officiating.  The family will receive friends at J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Monday, July 15, 2019.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Joseph's/Candler Foundations Heart & Lung Building, 5356 Reynolds Street, Suite 400, Savannah, GA 31405 in honor of Billie Ann Sullivan and designated to the Sisters of Mercy. J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home, 2157 East Street, SE, Covington, GA 30014 is in charge of the arrangements.  A guest book may be signed on-line www.harwellfuneralhome.com.
