Mr. Billy Mullins, age 79, of Woodstock formerly of Covington passed away Saturday, August 24, 2024. He was born September 10, 1944 in Greensboro, Georgia to Addison and Mary Martin Mullins who have preceded him in death. Mr. Mullins attended Greene County High School and graduated from Murphy High School in Atlanta. He was a retired truck driver having worked for Southeastern Freight Lines for 41 years. Mr. Mullins enjoyed going to the lake, coaching his children and grandchildren at both football and softball, he was a Georgia Tech football fan, and loved being with his family. He was Baptist by faith and a member of the First Baptist Church of Covington. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Wayne Mullins.
Mr. Mullins is survived by his wife Linda Mullins; his children Kevin Mullins (Beth) of Carrolton, Mandy Gudnason (Gary) of Canton, and Brittany Witmer (David) of Wilmington, North Carolina; his grandchildren Garret Gudnason (Alexis), Abbey Gudnason, Maggie Mullins, Cole Witmer, Keener Witmer, and Gentry Witmer; along with several nieces, nephews, other family members and many friends.
Funeral services for Mr. Mullins will be held at 2 o’clock Friday, August 30, 2024 at the Chapel of J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Thursday, August 29, 2024 at the funeral home and again on Friday from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM prior to the service.
