Billy Ray Sargent

Mr. Billy Ray Sargent, age 61, of Covington passed away Saturday, August 26, 2023.  He was born September 22, 1961 in Jefferson, Georgia to his parents Wallace Johnson and Dollie Mae Lee Sargent who have preceded him in death. Mr. Sargent served in the National Guard and was a supervisor for OHCO Outlet Center in Covington.  He enjoyed cooking and was a great caregiver, nothing made him happier than being with his family.

Mr. Sargent is survived by his children Crystal Sargent of Covington, Jennifer Cumbess (Phillip) of Newborn, Matthew Sargent of Covington, Jason Sargent (Stephanie) of Covington, Joshua Sargent of Covington, and Miranda Sargent of Monroe; his 12 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; his brother Danny Sargent; along with numerous other family members and many close friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Sargent will be held at 2 o’clock Thursday, August 31, 2023 at the Chapel of J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home.  Interment will follow at New Covington Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, August 29, 2023 at the funeral home.
