Mr. Bobby Marks, age 74, a lifelong resident of Mansfield passed away Friday, September 22, 2023. He was born April 5, 1949, to Joe and Ethel Harwell Marks who have preceded him in death. Mr. Marks grew up in Mansfield and was a graduate of Newton County High School. He was a farmer and worked alongside his family on their family farm. Mr. Marks loved life and traveled all across the southeast watching his grandchildren play ball, he also a had a talent for growing the best tomatoes around. Bobby Marks can be described as many things; he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, son, brothers, uncle, and friend who will be missed dearly. He was a Christian and a member of Stewart Community Church; Bobby was also a member of Newton County Dairy Association, Newton County Farm Bureau, Georgia Milk Producers, Georgia Holstein-Friesian Association of America. Along with his parents Mr. Marks was preceded in death by his sister Becky Marks Byrum.
Mr. Marks is survived by his wife Kay Marks; his sons Rob Marks (Angie), Shane Marks (Sunshine), and Bunky Marks (Natalie Martin) all of Mansfield; his 12 grandchildren; his 5 great grandchildren; his sister Brenda Stanton; his brothers Ben Marks, Bill Marks, and Brad Marks; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and a host of friends.
A Memorial Service for Mr. Marks will be held at 5 o'clock Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at Stewart Community Church with Pastor Jerry Swafford officiating. The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM prior to the service at the Church.
