Bobby "Bob" Thompson

Mr. Bobby “Bob” Thompson, age 91, of Covington passed away Wednesday, June 29, 2022.  He was born November 19, 1930 in Evergreen, Alabama to Otto and Alma Nichols Thompson who have preceded him in death.  Mr. Thompson grew up in Loree, Alabama and graduated from Repton High School.  He was also a graduate of Auburn University and worked as an Engineer for Hercules in Covington.  Mr. Thompson was a home builder as well, building numerous houses in and around Covington.  He enjoyed building and renovating homes, working in his yard, he was a member of First Baptist Church Game Day, an Auburn Football fan and an Atlanta Braves fan.  Mr. Thompson was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Covington. 

He is survived by his wife Angie Thompson; his children Lynn Thompson of Ukiah, California, Bobby Thompson, Jr. of Stockbridge, and Holly T. Martin (Wes) of Covington; his grandchildren Leah T. Smith, Seth T. Martin, and Jordan M. Parker; his great grandchildren Sophie, Vivian, Maddox, Ivy, Quinn, and James; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, and close friends.

A Gathering of Friends will be held at J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM on Sunday, July 10, 2022. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the First Baptist Covington Senior Adult Ministry, 1139 Usher Street NW, Covington, GA 30014.
