Bobby Jack Savage

Mr. Bobby Jack Savage, age 94, of Porterdale, Georgia passed away Friday, October 10, 2025. He was born on June 15, 1931, to James and Etta Savage, who have preceded him in death. Bobby Jack was also preceded by his late wife of 72 years, Georgia Savage, along with his siblings, Aubrey Savage, Howell Savage, Thelma Lundsford, Odessa Milner, James Troy Savage, William Roy Savage, and Robby Joe Savage.

Bobby Jack is survived by his children, Dennis Savage (Rita) of Tennessee and Darlene Savage of Porterdale; grandchildren, Jamie Tyner (Will) of Tennessee, Daniel Savage (Lauren) of Massachusetts, Scott Autry (Stephanie), and Marcus Autry; great-grandchildren, Walker Tyner, Lindsay Tyner, Titus Autry, Sheperd Autry, Gabby Autry, Sadie Autry, and Nora Autry; sister-in-law Vena Barnett (George) all of Covington, numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and close friends.

Bobby Jack proudly served in the United States Army for two years, a time during which he exemplified bravery, discipline, and a deep love for his country. Following his honorable discharge, he brought the same sense of dedication and hard work to his career at C&D Technologies. There, Bobby Jack was not only a respected employee but also a friend to all, known for his willingness to lend a helping hand and his ever-present smile. His selfless nature was most evident in his passion for taking care of others, a trait that defined his interactions and made him a beloved figure in the lives of many. Bobby Jack was a longtime member of Pace Masonic Lodge #558, a Shriner and member of Alcovy Shrine Club.  He spent countless hours and traveled unmeasurable miles transporting children to and from the Shriner’s Hospital for Children, a task that he thoroughly loved. Bobby Jack was a proud, faithful member of Calvary Community Church.

Funeral Services for Mr. Bobby Jack Savage will be held at 3 o’clock, Wednesday, October 15, 2025 at the Chapel of J.C. Harwell & Son Funeral Home with Pastor Scott Autry and Pastor Tim Walden officiating. Interment will follow at Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Tuesday, October 14, 2025. The pallbearers will be Chris Bowles, William Clark, Ronald Smith, Tommy Pilgrim, Harold Pilgrim, Jeff Pickens, Danny George, and Virgil Jones.
