Mrs. Bonnie L. Curtis, age 84, of Oxford passed away Wednesday, July 22, 2020. She was born in Porterdale on September 2, 1935 to Nathaniel and Loyce Satterfield who have preceded her in death. Mrs. Curtis grew up in Porterdale and was a graduate of Newton County High School. She worked for MacGregor in Covington for many years and then worked for and retired from K-Mart. Mrs. Curtis enjoyed shopping, spending time with her grandchildren, and traveling with her sisters. She a Christian and attended Porterdale Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Curtis was preceded in death by her grandson Korey Curtis and her husband Gerald Curtis.
She is survived by her daughter Debbie Jackson (Sonny) of Covington, her son Barry Curtis (Tela) of Oxford, 4 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, her sisters Charlotte Green of Eatonton and Lynda LaFollette of Social Circle along with a host of other family and close friends.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00PM on Friday, July 24, 2020 at the Chapel of J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home with Pastor Phil Payton officiating. Interment will follow at Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00AM until 12:00PM prior to the service. J.C.
