Bonnie Ruth (Tabor) Smith

Mrs. Bonnie Ruth Smith, age 85, of Covington passed away Sunday, December 31, 2023.  She was born April 19, 1938 in Moultrie, Georgia to John and Pearl Tabor.  Mrs. Smith grew up in Moultrie and worked as a waitress for many years. She went to work later in life for EDS working in the mailroom and retired after 7 years. 

Mrs. Smith enjoyed playing bingo and gambling.  She was preceded in death by her husband Benjamin Smith; her father John Tabor; her mother Pearl Henderson; her son Tony Stafford; her granddaughter Melanie Woods; and her great grandson Luke McWilliams.

Mrs. Smith is survived by her children Bonita Beaty and her husband Nathan, Gary Stafford, Jerry Stafford, and Marsha Stafford Drake and her husband Buddy; her grandchildren Ricky, Tina, Chris, and Robert (RJ); her great grandchildren Katie, Haley, Justin, Shelby, Haley, Madison, and Sara; her great-great grandchildren Draven, and Makalyn; her sister Carolyn Hancock Rabon and her husband Roscell; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, and many close friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Smith will be held at 2 o’clock Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at the Chapel of J. C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home with Pastor Danny Sorrells officiating.  Interment will follow at Eastview Cemetery in Conyers.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Wednesday prior to the service.
