Bruce Smith, Sr.

Mr. Bruce Smith, Sr., age 79, of Social Circle passed away Tuesday, February 27, 2024.  He was born January 22, 1945 in Lake City, Florida and grew up in Ft. Myers.  Mr. Smith served in the United States Army and was retired from Nortel Networks where he was an Engineer.  He enjoyed fishing, golf, watching wrestling, and was an excellent wood worker.  Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his parents Randolph and Peggy Smith.

Mr. Smith is survived by his wife Judy Smith; his daughter Angela Smith (Amber Ledesma) of Covington; his son Lee Smith of Social Circle; his granddaughter Alaina Smith of Social Circle; his sister Ethelle Anderson of Ft. Myers. FL; along with 2 nephews, other family members, and many close friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Smith will be held at 2 o’clock, Saturday, March 2, 2024 at the Chapel of J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home with Pastor Danny Sorrells officiating.  Interment will follow at Madison Memorial Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM prior to the service.
