Buddy Jule Glanton

Mr. Buddy Jule Glanton, 87 of Covington passed away June 3, 2024 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.  Mr. Glanton was born in Covington to Ben and Marie Clark Glanton who have preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his brother Billy Jo.

Mr. Glanton never met a stranger and would do anything for anybody. He was a member of Pipe Fitters Local Union #72 for well over 60 years. He loved working and doing anything with his hands including working in his beautiful yard and gardens and remodeling old homes and cars. He loved reuniting with old friends for the annual reunion in Covington Mill. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

Mr. Glanton is survived by his loving wife of 65 years Clara Plymel Glanton; his children Scotti Glanton of Loganville, Shelli Wall (Lance) of Loganville, Sonia Nelson (Tom) of Oxford, Shane Glanton of North Carolina, Adam Glanton of Monticello and Steven Bennett of Oxford; 17 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; his siblings Cora Jane Shannon of Texas, and Thomas Glanton (Debi) of Rutledge, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A Gathering of Friends for Mr. Glanton will be held on Thursday, June 6, 2024 from 6 pm until 8 pm at J.C. Harwell & Son Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to www.georgiasheriffsyouth.org.
