Captain (Ret.) Lee B. Stilley, age 61, of Oxford passed away July 3, 2021. He was born June 12, 1960 in Atlanta to Bennie and Norma Stilley who have preceded him in death. Lee grew up in East Point and graduated from Headland High School. He attended both Dekalb College and Gordan College. Lee worked for East Point Fire and Rescue, retiring as a Lieutenant, he also worked for Forest Park Fire Department as a Sergeant, and retired as a Captain from Monroe County Fire and Emergency Services. He was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Oxford. Lee enjoyed bowling and playing golf. He is survived by his wife Marie Crosby Stilley, his daughter Caitlin McElroy (Daniel) of Ranburn, Alabama, his grandchildren Alea, Alyssa, Tatum, Rex, Emma, Matthew, and Daniel, Jr. his sister Rebecca Mace (Jeff) of Springtown, Texas his close friends Bill and Kim Lassiter of Hampton, and Gail and Walt Koscica of Powder Springs along with a host of other family and close friends.
Funeral services for Captain Stilley will be held at 11 o’clock Friday July 9, 2021 at the Chapel of J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home with Reverend David Shelton officiating. Interment to follow at New Covington Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, July 8, 2021 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm. J.C.
