Carol Kuieck Obituary

Mrs. Carol Ann Kuieck, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 4, 2025, at the age of 86. Born on July 24, 1939, to Harold and Elizabeth Fuqua, Carol’s zest for life and loving nature touched all who knew her. Though preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Jill Headike, her siblings Sandra Boliek, Donna Dullinger, and Gary Fuqua, and her nephew Jacob Kunke, Carol's legacy of warmth and kindness lives on through her family and the countless lives she has influenced.

Carol's journey through life was one of enduring love and commitment, especially evident in her 54-year marriage to her devoted husband, Ken Kuieck. Their bond was forged in the beautiful landscapes of Anchorage, Alaska, where she led a military life with her husband and remained unbreakable through the ebbs and flows of life. Together, they raised a family that included their loving children Jeff Headike, Jolie Kunke and her husband Joe, Jeremiah Kunke, Joshua Kunke, Julie Headike, and Kenneth Kuieck, Jr. and his wife Mendi. Carol's joy was multiplied with the birth of each of her grandchildren, Jazlyn, Jonathon, Sierra, Robin and her husband Nathan, Paul, and Zachary, and great-grandchildren Mackayla and Kaenan.

Carol led a military life with her husband in Anchorage where their son Ken Jr. was born. They relocated down the Alcan Highway to Crosby, North Dakota where they resided for two years enjoying family and military life. They continued their journey to Keflavik, Iceland for one and half years before transferring to Opheim, Montana. The military took Ken and Carol on to Klamath Falls, Oregon to Las Vegas, Nevada where Ken later retired in Nellis AFB, Las Vegas, Nevada. After retirement, they settled in Ridgecrest, California.

An alumna of Cerro Cosa Community College in California, Carol earned her associate degree, which was a testament to her belief in the value of education and personal growth. Her creative spirit shone brightly in her love for painting and playing the piano, hobbies that brought beauty into the world and solace to her soul. She was a gifted artist who created over 100 beautiful portraits, capturing the quiet majesty of nature. Carol's generous heart found its expression in the care she lavished on her friends, always being there for them in times of need. Her passion for life was also evident in her love for shopping, a delightful pursuit that brought her great joy.

Carol's service to her community was deeply intertwined with her faith. She was a member of the Epiphany Lutheran Church, and she was greatly loved by her Methodist Church family, where she not only worshipped but also served with a dedication that was both humbling and inspiring. Her work ethic was unparalleled, and she was renowned for her skill in baking, especially for the NCO Club, where her sticky buns became a much-anticipated treat for special occasions.

As we remember Carol, we are reminded of the light she brought into our lives. Her kindness, her laughter, and her unwavering support are the hallmarks of a life well-lived. Carol Ann Kuieck will be profoundly missed.
