Carol (Goin) Mallory
Obituary
Carol Goin Mallory, age 75, of Covington, GA, passed away on March 13, 2023 after a five-year battle with Alzheimer’s. She was born on July 15, 1947 to Roy and Elizabeth Goin in Nashville, TN and the family moved to Atlanta, GA in 1959. Carol always embraced life and “took the tiger by the tail”. Carol was a loving mother of four and a dedicated employee of Cowan Ace Hardware. After the loss of her husband, Steve Mallory in 2005, she dedicated her life to her family and quilting. Her passion for quilting grew her circle of family and friends. Carol is also preceded in death by her brother Thomas Goin.
Carol is survived by her sons Michael Shumate (Eliza) and Timothy Shumate (Ginger); daughters Brenda Wheeler (Scott) and Cheryl Mallory; along with her grandchildren and great grandchildren whom she loved and took great pride in. She is also survived by her siblings John Goin (“Debby”), Robert Goin (“Gael”) and other family members and close friends.
