Mrs. Carol Perkins-Irby of Covington, age 74, passed away on August 2, 2024. She was born in Indiana on September 16, 1949 to Marguarite and Robert Barrett who have proceeded her in death. Carol enjoyed playing cards, shooting pool and listening to country music. She never missed a chance to watch a good football game or play Bingo. Carol loved her family, was always laughing and having a good time. Throughout Carol’s 50-year career, she had an impact on thousands of people with her compassionate heart, infectious smile and laughter. She loved coordinating benefits for the people in need in her community. Carol deeply loved and missed her California family dearly. She was special to many and will be missed by everyone. Along with her parents, Carol is also proceeded in death by three of her children, Tina Barrett, Carl Fortt, Brian Stuart and her siblings, Juanita Wall, Barbara Truax, Bobby Barrett, Russell Barrett, Roger Barrett, Ronald Barrett, Jimmy Barrett and Carl Barrett.
Carol is survived by her children, Paul Fortt (Rhonda), David Fortt, Veronica McCann, Jenny Strickland, seventeen grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, siblings, Robert Eugene Barrett and Gerald Barret, nieces and nephews that she loved like she did her own, other family members and close friends.
The family will announce a celebration of life at a later date.
