Mrs. Carolyn "Sunshine" Loh, a beacon of warmth and kindness, passed away on June 10, 2025, at the age of 88. Born on November 26, 1936, in Covington, she was the cherished daughter of the late Hoke and Eva Deaton and beloved sister to the late Vivian Beddia and the surviving Ruby Anglin. She shared a blissful life with her devoted husband, Manfred Loh, and was a treasured aunt to several nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends who became her extended family.
Carolyn graduated from Newton County High School in 1954, embodying the spirit of community and friendship that would hallmark her life. Her career began with Sears and Roebuck Company before she became a real estate agent with Top Notch Realty and American Realty showcased her genuine care for her clients, and her unwavering integrity. She cultivated lifelong relationships and built community through every home she helped to find its family.
Known lovingly as Sunshine to those around her, Carolyn brought light and joy into any room. Her devotion to her faith was evident through her active involvement in Bible study and attending Sunday School at Jackson Lake, where she touched many lives. Her kindness rippled through her teachings and the compassionate way she lived her life.
Sunshine enjoyed playing golf, she found pleasure in the game and fellowship on the greens. Her graceful swings and encouraging smiles were fixtures on the local courses, where her presence brightened the days of her fellow enthusiasts. Carolyn's love for the game was only matched by the love shared amongst her playing companions.
Sunshine was the epitome of a loving, kind, and friendly soul. Her value for relationships, her generous heart, and her constant encouragement were her signatures. To speak her name is to invoke memories of one whose life was a testament to the power of love, the strength of faith, and the importance of community.

Funeral services for Mrs. Loh will be held at 2 o’clock Friday, June 13, 2025, at the Chapel of J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Covington Mill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM prior to the service on Friday. J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home has been entrusted with these arrangements.
