Mr. Charles Wilburn Lewis, known affectionately as Will by those closest to him, passed away on June 25, 2025, at the age of 68. Born on December 30, 1956, Will's life was a testament to the power of faith, family, and unyielding commitment to community service.

Will was a devoted husband to his late wife, Colleen Lewis, with whom he shared 41 years of marriage filled with love and mutual respect. His legacy continues through his cherished parents, Charles and Joyce Lewis, and his loving children, Faith Mathews (Brian) of Conyers, Stephen Lewis of Oxford, April Lewis of Loganville, and Michelle Carter (Brandon) of Winder. Will's joyful spirit lives on in his adored grandchildren, Alice, Chase, and Silas, who were the center of his world. He is also survived by his caring sister, Phyllis Williams, and respected brothers-in-law, Glen Townsend of Monticello, Bruce Townsend (Susan) of Jackson, and Rick Townsend (Carolyn) of St. Simon. His lifelong friends, Lester Johnson, Paul Johnson, and Tom Findley, will miss his companionship and unwavering support.

Will's educational journey was marked by his pursuit of knowledge and spiritual growth. He attended West Georgia College before advancing to New Orleans Theological Seminary College, where he earned his master's degree. This education laid the foundation for a life dedicated to spiritual service.

Professionally, Will was a passionate church planner, dedicating many years to the growth and nurturing of faith communities. His work at Milstead Baptist Church, where he was a proud volunteer for the food ministry and a children's church, was a reflection of his belief in practical service and the transformative power of faith in action.

Will's interests were deeply intertwined with his love for his family and his church community. His grandchildren were the light of his life, and he found immense joy in every moment spent with them. He also cherished his church family, whose lives he touched with his kindness, wisdom, and an ever-open heart.
