Mr. Charles S. “Chuck / Charlie” Petralito, age 96 of Eatonton, Georgia and Marco Island, Florida passed away Sunday, November 15, 2020. He was born in Lawrence, Massachusetts on August 21, 1924 to Saverio and Raffaela Privitera Petralito; who have preceded him in death. He attended Lawrence High School and was a graduate of Massachusetts College of Pharmacy. A proud World War II veteran, Charles S. Petralito served as a medic for the United States Army at the Battle of the Bulge. After returning from the war, he met the love of his life, Nell. Charles and Nell moved to Hartford, Connecticut where they raised their three children, Neal, Gary and Kim. For 70 years, he was a devoted husband to his wife, who preceded him in death.
Mr. Petralito was a sales representative for Parke-Davis Pharmaceutical company. He later owned and operated Mandell’s Pharmacy with the help of his wife and three children, and continued his career working for CVS Pharmacy in the Atlanta area until he was 84 years old. After his retirement, Charles and Nell spent the remainder of their years splitting time between Lake Oconee, Georgia, and Marco Island, Florida, where he enjoyed playing golf, watching football and dancing with his lovely wife. Charles loved being with his family. He and his wife were devout catholics by faith. A loving father, grandfather and friend to many, Charles was a quiet man, with a calming presence and a caring heart.
Mr. Petralio is survived by his children Neal Petri of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, Gary Petralito and his wife Debbie of Farmington, CT, and Kim Richter and her husband Scott of Eatonton GA, his grandchildren Lindsey, Wayne and his wife Allie, Taylor and Connor along with a host of other family and close friends.
A memorial mass celebrating the life of Mr. Charles Petralito will be held at a later date. Those desiring may make contributions to your favorite charity in honor of Mr. Petralito. J.C.
