Charlotte Lawson

Mrs. Charlotte Ann Lawson, age 89, a lifelong resident of Covington passed away Monday, July 18, 2022.  She was born January 6, 1933 in Atlanta to Troy and Annie Maude Johnston who have preceded her in death.  Mrs. Lawson attended Heard Mixon School and along with her husband, J. C. Lawson, owned and operated Lawson’s Store in the Stewart Community for many years.  She was a wonderful cook, and enjoyed sewing, crocheting, reading, and loved her family very much.  Mrs. Lawson was a member of the Covington Church of Christ. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband J.C. Lawson, and her daughter Terry Lynn Casey.

Mrs. Lawson is survived by her children Gene Lawson, Bobbie Jo Walters, and Ann Bishop all of Covington; her 13 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, and 16 great-great grandchildren; her brothers and sisters Haskell Johnston, Franklin Johnston, Gayle Marchman, and Margaret Aaron; along with a host of other family and close friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Lawson will be held at 11 o’clock Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at the Chapel of J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home with Reverend Jack Lawson officiating.  Interment will follow at Covington City Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, July 19, 2022.
