Christopher "Chris" Johnston

Christopher “Chris” Blake Johnston, age 35, a lifelong resident of Covington passed away Monday, December 13, 2021.  He was born September 24, 1986 to his parents Jessie Johnston, Jr. and Kelli Harper.  Chris grew up in Covington and graduated from Newton County High School.  He loved music and enjoyed “Treasure Hunting”. 

Chris is survived by his children Jackson and Sophia of Covington; his mother and step father Kelli and Gregory Martin of Flovilla; his father and step mother Jessie, Jr and Tiffany Sweat Johnston of Covington; his brother and sister-in-law Ryan and Jillian Johnston of Snellville; his sisters Jesany Johnston and Jalie Johnston of Covington; his grandparents Brenda and Al Snellgrove of Oxford, Jessie Johnston, Sr. and Janice Womac of Covington, and Ann Smith also of Covington; along with a host of other family and close friends.

A Gathering of Friends will be held from 6:00pm until 8:00pm on Thursday, December 16, 2021 at the Chapel of J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home with a Time of Sharing at 7:00pm.  Governor Brian Kemp has lifted the restrictions for large gatherings and other recommendations throughout Georgia.  However, we ask that you still be respectful of the family and others during this time. If you are sick, not feeling well, or have any symptoms of COVID 19, please do not attend the service or services.  If you feel the need to wear a mask, please do so.
