Claude Morgan

Mr. Claude Morgan, age 86, of Mansfield passed away Sunday, April 24, 2022.  He was born in Newton County on November 20, 1935 to Clifford and Mary Few Morgan who have preceded him in death.  Mr. Morgan was a longtime member of Mansfield Baptist Church.  He served in the National Guard until he was injured and honorably discharged.  Mr. Morgan worked as a truck driver for many years at Leggett and Platt in Social Circle.  He enjoyed fishing and woodworking.  Along with his parents Mr. Morgan was preceded in death by his sons Andy Morgan, and Mike Morgan; and his daughter Angela Morgan.

Mr. Morgan is survived by his wife Mary Morgan; his daughter and son-in-law Lynn and John McGlynn of Mansfield; 7 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren; along with a host of other family and close friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Morgan will be held at 3 o’clock Thursday, April 28, 2022 at the Chapel of J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home with Dr. Jeffrey Perkins and Pastor Danny Sorrells officiating.  The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM on Thursday prior to the service at the funeral home.
