Colleen (Townsend) Lewis

Mrs. Colleen Lewis, age 70, of Oxford passed Friday, January 12, 2023.  She was born in Akron, Ohio on November 15, 1952 to Jack and Julie Townsend who have preceded her in death.  Mrs. Lewis grew up in Decatur and was a member of the first graduating class of Columbia High School.  Following high school, she received an Associates Degree from Dekalb Technical College.  Mrs. Lewis enjoyed arts and crafts, watching Hallmark Movies, and loved being with her children and grandchildren.  She was Baptist by faith and a member of Crossroads Baptist Church. 

Mrs. Lewis is survived by her husband of 41 years Will Lewis; her children Faith Mathews (Brian) of Conyers, Stephen Lewis of Oxford, April Lewis of Loganville, and Michelle Lewis of Oxford; her grandchildren Alice, Chase, and Silas; her brothers Glen Townsend of Monticello, Bruce Townsend (Susan) of Jackson, and Rick Townsend (Carolyn) of St. Simons; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and close friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Lewis will be held at 11 o’clock Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at the Chapel of J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home with Reverend Brandon Stanley officiating.  Interment will follow at Covington City Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Monday, January 16, 2023.  J.C.
