Dan Bartello

Mr. Dan Bartello of Covington, age 81, passed away on Wednesday, August 14, 2024.  He was born on October 13, 1942 in Centralia, Illinois to Alonzo Daniel (Sr.) and Reba Jones Bartello who have proceeded him in death.  Dan grew up in Centralia and graduated from Centralia High School.  After high school, he attended Southern Illinois University and joined the National Guard.  Dan enjoyed golf, watching sports, spending time with his grandchildren and especially watching his grandson (Daniel) play baseball.  Dan was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church.   

Dan is survived by his children, Danny Bartello (Sherri) of Covington and Mary Ann Collie (Chris) of Lilburn; grandchildren Faith, Daniel, and Avery; his lifelong friend Karen Wyatt of Houston, Texas; along with numerous other family members and close friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Bartello will be held at 3 o’clock Sunday, August 18, 2024 at the Chapel of J.C. Harwell & Son Funeral Home with Reverend Rob Rienstra officiating.  Interment will follow at New Covington Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM prior to the service on Sunday.
