Mr. Dan Goldman, age 80, of Covington, was born on January 19, 1946, in Houston, Texas, and passed away on April 30, 2026, in Monroe, Georgia. He was a friendly and faith-filled man whose life was marked by devotion to his family, his work, and his church. His presence brought comfort and strength to those who knew him, and his memory will remain a blessing to all who were fortunate enough to share in his life.
Mr. Goldman was the beloved son of the late Roy and Ruth Goldman and the brother of the late Bennie Goldman. He was married to Carol Goldman for 60 years, and together they built a life centered on love, faith, and family. He is survived by his children, Roy Goldman and his wife Vicki, Jeanene Harrison and her husband Kenny, and Cassie Dixon. He also leaves behind 8 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren who all knew him as “Grumpy”, and numerous other family members and friends who will cherish his memory and the many ways he touched their lives.
A proud native of Houston, Texas, Mr. Goldman graduated from Smiley High School in Houston. He carried the values of hard work, integrity, and perseverance throughout his life. Those who knew him respected his steady character and admired the way he approached each responsibility with dedication and purpose. His life reflected a deep commitment to serving others and doing what was right.
Mr. Goldman owned Goldman Security and Investigations, where he applied his skills and experience with professionalism and care. He also served as an investigator with the District Attorney’s Office for the Alcovy Judicial Circuit, a role in which he contributed to the pursuit of justice and the protection of his community. His work was a meaningful part of his life, and he was respected for the seriousness with which he carried out his duties.
Outside of his professional life, Mr. Goldman enjoyed hunting and fishing, pastimes that gave him peace and enjoyment. He was especially devoted to his church, Lovejoy United Methodist Church, where he was very active in the life of the congregation. He served as a lay minister and preached many sermons, sharing his faith with conviction and compassion. His church family held a special place in his heart, and his ministry left a lasting impression on many lives.
Mr. Goldman will be remembered for his warm spirit, his steadfast faith, and the love he gave so freely to his family and community. His life was a testament to devotion, service, and grace. Though he will be deeply missed, his legacy will continue through the family he loved, the church he served, and the many lives he influenced along the way.
A memorial service will be held at 2pm Saturday, May 23, 2026 at Lovejoy United Methodist Church.
