Darlene (Watkins) Lockhart

Mrs. Darlene Lockhart, age 69, of Rutledge passed away peacefully in her home on Sunday, October 15, 2023.  She was born to Mary and George Watkins of Palestine, West Virginia.  She grew up in West Virgina, but spent most of her adult life in Rutledge, Georgia.  In the end, she fought long and hard to prove doctors wrong when they said that this was it.  Her body had gone through so much and she was broken and weak, but God healed her in a way that no doctor ever could.  He took away all her pain and struggles when He called her home.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.  She is preceded in death by her parents and her sister Ruth Callow of Parkersburg, West Virginia.  She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Dale Lockhart of Rutledge, her sons Chris Lockhart (Missy) of Bostwick, Jeremy Lockhart (Ashley) of Jefferson,  Jamie Lockhart (Dee) of Newborn, daughters Amy Mock (Richard) of Monticello, Emoline Lockhart of Rutledge, grandchildren Nicole Minnish, Brandon Lockhart, Garrett Lockhart, Kelsey Cheek, Preston Lockhart, Katlyn Lockhart, Jackson Cheek, Bear Lockhart, Maddy Lockhart, Callie Lockhart, Shay Mock, Vivian Mock, Emily Mock & Isaiah Lockhart, great grandchildren Rowan Peete and Ashton Cheek, sisters Dot and Gary Myers, Karen and Francis Trickett, Becky Watkins, brother Jimmy and Penny Watkin, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A small family memorial service will be held Saturday, October 21 in Rockport, West Virginia.
